Sales Engineer (Bath) - £35K basic - Exclusive

A well-established engineering company is seeking a Sales Engineer to support the technical side of the sales process. You will work closely with both the commercial and engineering teams to understand customer needs, present solutions, and help close opportunities.

This is a confidential search – the company name will be shared with shortlisted candidates only.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective and existing customers to understand technical and commercial requirements
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations and site assessments
  • Prepare and present technical proposals in collaboration with the sales team
  • Act as the main technical point of contact throughout the sales cycle
  • Support a clean handover to the delivery team once projects are won
  • Build strong relationships with key technical stakeholders at customer organisations
  • Provide market and competitive feedback to internal teams

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in a Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer or technical pre-sales role
  • Strong ability to explain complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Experience writing or contributing to technical proposals
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

Desirable

  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing or process engineering sectors
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Full UK driving licence
