Take Ownership of Your Territory
Silcom’s Chains is a UK manufacturer and supplier of engineered conveyor chains, sprockets and associated components used across demanding industrial environments.
We're growing our Chains business and looking for a technically minded Sales Engineer to develop customers across the South of England.
This is a true field sales role. You'll spend much of your time on the road, visiting customer sites, building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping customers solve real engineering challenges.
You don't need to be a conveyor chain expert. If you understand conveyors, material handling, bulk handling, power transmission or similar engineered products, we're interested in speaking with you.
The Role
You'll manage and develop your territory, combining new business development with account management.
Your customers will include businesses across Energy from Waste (EfW), recycling, wastewater, quarrying, aggregates, biomass, power generation and general industrial manufacturing.
You'll have the backing of our Engineering and Estimating teams to develop the right technical and commercial solutions for customers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
