Sales Engineer
Location: Hybrid + Eaglescliffe, Teesside (100% onsite until trained)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Company Car + 10% Sales Bonus

Mersen UK Ltd are a global expert in electrical power and advanced materials, Mersen designs innovative solutions to address its clients’ specific needs to enable them to optimize their manufacturing performance in sectors such as military, energy, transportation, electronics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and process industries. Mersen UK Teesside Ltd is a key graphite manufacturing unit of Graphite Specialities Divisions of Mersen supporting our Uk and European customer base.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Sales Engineer who will be hybrid based, site presence will be required upto 3 days a week in our Teesside site. We are looking for an experienced Sales professional who will support our UK customers along with providing ongoing support to our European sales network when required. You will be developing relationships with existing customers whilst actively looking for new business opportunities.
Duties of the role (but not limited to) include:
- To build strong customer relationships with existing and new customers.
- To answer customers requests timely and provide in-depth technical advice to potential or current customers.
- To negotiate terms and conditions of orders within delegation rules.
- To issue timely customer visit reports in the CRM system.
- To participate in regular Sales meetings and reviews.
- To collaborate with internal partners to provide adequate solutions and service to customers.
- To contribute and support the Sales Budget.

Person Specification
- At least 3 years experience at Sales Engineer level.
- Experience in materials (graphite) and glass production would be advantageous.
- Candidates must be educated to at least degree level or hold equivalent and demonstrable work experience.
- A good understanding of Microsoft Packages.

Main Duties
- Spends majority of time interacting with customers.

- Answers customer requests timely and comprehensively. Analyzes and understand the customer’s technical need. Provides in-depth technical advice to assist potential customers in designing their parts for the specific characteristics of Mersen products. Contributes to the drafting of specifications.
