Role: Sales Engineer / Solution Engineer
Location: UK – Remote
Salary: Up to £95k base + £40k OTE
This is an opportunity to join a global leader in financial performance management software, helping mid-market organisations transform the way they plan, forecast, report and make financial decisions.
As a Solution Engineer / Pre-Sales Consultant, you'll work alongside the sales team to understand complex customer requirements, shape compelling solutions and demonstrate how market-leading FP&A, CPM and EPM technology can solve real-world finance challenges.
The role is highly consultative, working closely with CFOs, Finance Directors, Heads of FP&A and senior finance stakeholders throughout the sales process. You'll combine strong technical and commercial skills to deliver compelling solution presentations, workshops and demonstrations that support new business growth.

The Role
- Partner closely with Account Executives to support new business opportunities across the UK&I mid-market
- Act as the technical and functional expert throughout the sales cycle
- Lead discovery sessions, solution workshops, product demonstrations and presentations
- Understand customer requirements and translate complex finance challenges into compelling solutions
- Demonstrate how FP&A, CPM and EPM technology can improve planning, forecasting, reporting and decision-making
- Develop tailored solution proposals aligned to customer business requirements
- Present to senior finance stakeholders including CFOs, Finance Directors and Heads of FP&A
- Support the sales team through qualification, solution design, proposal development and negotiation
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs and contribute to compelling written and verbal proposals
- Collaborate with Product, Professional Services, Customer Success and Sales to ensure a strong customer experience
- Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, providing insight into best practice across financial planning and performance management

About You
- 4+ years' experience in a Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales or Solutions Consulting role
- Experience working with FP&A, CPM, EPM, financial performance management or related finance software
- Strong understanding of finance processes including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and consolidation
- Comfortable engaging with CFOs, Finance Directors, Heads of FP&A and other senior finance stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead compelling product demonstrations and solution presentations
- Strong discovery and consultative selling skills, with the ability to uncover business challenges and translate them into solutions
- Commercially minded with an understanding of how pre-sales contributes to revenue and new business growth
- Excellent presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working alongside sales teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Able to simplify complex technical and financial concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
