Sales Engineer / Solutions Consultant – Bristol
Location: Bristol (Hybrid)
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 basic + Bonus / Benefits
About Our Client
Our client is a high-growth B2B software company providing a sophisticated technology platform to enterprise customers. As the commercial team expands, they are looking for a technically strong Sales Engineer to support complex customer opportunities.
The Role
Sitting between Sales, Product and Engineering, you will act as the technical expert throughout the sales process. You will understand customer requirements, demonstrate the platform, answer technical questions and help design solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives throughout technical sales cycles.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective customers.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations and proof-of-concept sessions.
- Translate customer requirements into proposed technical solutions.
- Respond to technical sections of RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires.
- Explain APIs, integrations, architecture, security and implementation approaches.
- Feed customer requirements and market insight back into Product and Engineering.
- Support handover from pre-sales into implementation and Customer Success.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Pre-Sales Consultant or technical customer-facing professional.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, APIs, integrations and cloud technology.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting enterprise software sales cycles.
- Strong presentation and discovery skills.
- Software engineering, cloud or technical implementation experience would be advantageous.
