Salary: £22,000

Location: Warwick Head Office

12-month Placement (28th June 2027 – 10th July 2028)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday

Degree Requirements:

  • 2 years completed – Placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a first or 2:1 in your chosen studies.
  • Working towards a mechanical-based engineering degree

As an intern, you will support the New Vehicles Sales department on product knowledge and sales system developments. You will work with our sales tools to calculate vehicle weights and electric range by applying engineering principles and your knowledge.

What you will do

  • Provide general assistance to the Engineering team.
  • Take your engineering knowledge and assist in developing product-related training materials for the Volvo Truck Sales Academy.
  • Support and work closely with the Truck Product Support Specialist with new product and component information.
  • Represent Volvo Trucks at Trade shows and Customer Events.
  • Understand how the truck market is made up and how the truck is adapted into sectors such as long haul, distribution and construction.
  • Working closely with sales teams to ensure that the product is fit-for-purpose and supporting customer documents are in alignment.
  • Research and understand international and national regulations and legislation, ensuring that product offers are suitable.

Who are you?

  • Confident in both verbal and written communication.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills, comfortable with changing or managing multiple priorities.
  • You have strong analytical skills and understand how to research changes in legislation and regulation.
  • Confident with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business.
  • A strong interest in the automotive industry and how engineers operate in the commercial sector.

In your team, there is a Truck Product Support Specialist, as well as 3 other sales engineers collectively reporting to the Head of Product Management. You will collaborate and assist your team throughout your placement year, getting exposure to all aspects of the engineering team.
