Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team with sales, estimating and contracts management experience within a busy MEPV merchant. This is a varied role responsible for generating new business opportunities, preparing competitive quotations and estimates, and managing contracts from initial enquiry through to completion.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to build long-term relationships with clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the plumbing and heating commercial sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Follow up quotations and sales leads to maximise conversion rates.
  • Achieve agreed sales and margin targets.
  • Promote the company's product range and services.
  • Work closely with suppliers to identify new opportunities and projects.

Estimating

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and quotations from customer enquiries.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers to obtain best pricing and technical information.
  • Ensure all quotations meet customer requirements and project specifications.
  • Review tender documentation and identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor quotation success rates and maintain estimating records.

Contract Management

  • Manage projects and contracts from order placement through to completion.
  • Coordinate product procurement, delivery schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Liaise with clients and site teams.
  • Monitor project progress and resolve any issues affecting delivery or client satisfaction.
  • Ensure contract documentation and records are maintained accurately.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Proven experience in sales, estimating, contract management, or merchanting.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
