Role Description

The Sales Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Kettering, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for refurbishment projects. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Conducting site visits when required
  • Calculating materials, labor, and time requirements to produce detailed quotations

The role involves collaborating closely with the sales and operations teams to understand client requirements, clarify technical details, and support the conversion of estimates into confirmed projects. The Sales Estimator will regularly communicate with clients to answer queries, provide updates, and build strong relationships that support repeat business. The position also includes:

  • Maintaining up-to-date records of estimates
  • Monitoring market pricing
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of estimation processes

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills to manage client interactions and internal collaboration.
  • Proven sales and business development capabilities to support growth and secure new refurbishment projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in project estimation, including cost analysis, budgeting, and quotation preparation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications related to construction or refurbishment.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word) and, ideally, estimation or CRM tools.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Previous experience in construction, refurbishment, or a related sector is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant vocational or academic qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field is an advantage.
