Role Description

The Sales Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Kettering. In this position, the individual will review project requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates, and produce clear, professional quotations for clients. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Liaising with customers to understand their needs
  • Collaborating with operations teams to validate scopes of work
  • Updating internal systems with pricing and project details

The Sales Estimator will support business development by:

  • Following up on leads
  • Nurturing client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities to expand services within existing and new sectors

This role also involves:

  • Maintaining detailed records of estimates
  • Monitoring project progress where necessary
  • Ensuring that all proposals reflect company standards and profitability targets

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Communication, with the ability to build trust and manage expectations.
  • Proven Sales and Business Development abilities to convert inquiries into projects and grow the client base.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Estimation, including interpreting technical information and producing accurate, timely quotes.
  • Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., spreadsheets, CRM tools) and strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in construction, refurbishments, or related sectors is beneficial.
  • Relevant vocational training or a qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field is an advantage.
