Sales Estimator Apprentice

The company is looking to recruit a Sales Estimator apprentice to the team, who will be trained in all aspects of Business to Business internal sales, communication skills, order processing and administration. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to build a successful career in sales.

What you'll do at work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

Working alongside our Sales Manager you will be trained and mentored to provide support to the sales team ensuring customer satisfaction. There is a clear career progression plan for the successful candidate to become a sales estimator once their apprenticeship has been completed.

The successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of Business-to-Business internal sales, communication skills, order processing and administration. Understanding our products and services is key to this person's success and the company will be providing ongoing training and support in the products we manufacture and sell.

In the role of a Sales Apprentice, you will report to the Sales Director/Manager, providing internal support to the sales team and ensuring customer satisfaction. Using up to date software you will be trained in all aspects of internal sales, order processing and administration.

As a Sales Estimator Apprentice you will be responsible for:

  • Processing new enquiries & making sure that they are recorded on the quotation list
  • React to customer enquiries via telephone & email
  • Job costing - understanding & analysis
  • Use & understand the quality management procedures (QMP)
  • Send out quotes based on customers enquiries
  • Update the quotation list once the quote has been sent
  • Understand the product & know when to use standard sections and when to use bespoke
  • Improve & update documents as required
  • Liaise with customers for any additional information that is required for the quote
  • Make sure that procedures are followed so that if it becomes an order any changes to the original enquiry are recorded in Notes to contract
  • Make sure to create a new revision of the quote if it needs to be re-quoted
  • Use standard products and previous jobs to get an estimate of the materials & hours needed
  • Follow up on quotes
  • Processing new purchase orders as and when required

Training schedule

This qualification is Level 3 Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship.

The apprentice would be required to attend the training centre for a two days a week over 5-weeks for off the job training. This will be at In-Comm Training Services Limited in Aldridge, Walsall, WS8 7DG. After this, an assessor will visit the apprentice at the company one day per month for the 15-month duration of the training.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English & Maths (grade 5 and above)
  • Information Technology (grade 5 and above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
