Trainee Profile Sales Estimator
Eggleston Steel is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Profile Sales Estimator to join our team in Derby.
This is a hands-on role combining basic CAD work, customer quotations, and order processing. It’s ideal for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys practical/technical tasks, and likes working with customers and colleagues.
What does the role involve?
- Learning to use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create simple drawings and parts for our CNC machinery.
- Helping prepare clear and accurate quotations for customers.
- Converting quotations into confirmed orders once approved.
- Using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) for day-to-day tasks.
- Working closely with colleagues to make sure customer requirements are understood and processed correctly.
- Keeping a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.

What are we looking for?
- Someone willing to learn CAD — no experience needed, full training provided.
- Any understanding of CAD or design software is a bonus, but not essential.
- Previous experience with Sigma or SolidWorks is helpful, but not required.
- A good team player who communicates well with colleagues and customers.
- Confident, friendly, and able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Motivated, organized, and keen to develop new skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
