Job Description

Company Description

At Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, we proudly offer two distinct luxury establishments situated on separate estates, yet operated seamlessly as one cohesive team. Whether you opt for the laid-back ambiance of Gilpin Hotel or the distinct combination of hotel and country house at Gilpin Lake House, your experience with us is designed to be effortlessly harmonious.

Gilpin Hotel & Lake House are part of the prestigious Pride of Britain Hotels and we are proud to be one of the 580 members of Relais & Châteaux, an association of worldwide independent hotel and restaurant owners.

About the Role

As Sales & Events Manager at Gilpin Hotel and Lake House, you’ll drive revenue across rooms, dining, spa, weddings, events, and Lake House exclusives through strategic sales leadership, relationship management, and luxury-standard guest engagement.

Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is a family-owned country house hotel on the eastern shore of Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District — recognised with Two MICHELIN Keys, AA Five Red Stars, and a Michelin star for our restaurant, SOURCE. We've been named among Tripadvisor's Best of the Best hotels worldwide, featured in The Telegraph's Top 250 Places to Stay, and voted Best Spa Hotel in the Lake District. This is a rare opportunity to lead commercial sales for one of the UK's most decorated independent luxury hotels, reporting into the General Manager.

Your Role as Sales & Events Manager

You’ll introduce new clients to everything that makes Gilpin special, build lasting partnerships and turn opportunities into memorable stays and experiences. Working closely with the General Manager, Reservations, Marketing and our operational teams, you’ll have the support and freedom to bring your ideas to life.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
