I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Responsibilities:
- Track Sales Teams’ Revenue Performance: Monitor and analyse the sales team’s performance metrics, including active customer counts, revenue, and gross profit by line of business. Prepare regular reports for the Commercial Director to ensure ongoing awareness and strategic adjustments as necessary.
- Define Aged Sales List: Develop and maintain a weekly aged sales list, identifying inventory that has been held longer than desired. Work closely with the sales and inventory teams to implement measures to optimise turnover rates and maintain aging KPI’s on track.
- Coordinate Sales Forecasts and Financial Feedback: Regularly update sales forecasts based on market trends and sales team input. Provide these forecasts to the Finance team to assist in projecting cash flow and financial planning.
- Create Price Lists: Develop and update price lists on a weekly basis, taking into account market trends, stock levels, and aging products. These price lists aim to stimulate sales, optimise stock levels, and reduce the average aging of inventory, ultimately contributing to profitability.
- Coordinate Market Pricing Feedback: Gather and analyse market pricing feedback from the sales team and communicate relevant insights to the Supply Team on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis. This process helps ensure that pricing strategies are aligned with market conditions and customer expectations.
- Monitor Demand Planning: Oversee the demand planning process for both B2B and B2C channels, ensuring accurate forecasts are provided to the Supply Team each week to align supply chain strategies with market demand, optimising stock availability and customer satisfaction.
- Define Products for Promotion on Callisto: Based on stock levels and inventory aging data, identify products to be promoted on Callisto, our B2B marketplace. Work closely with the Marketing Team to plan and execute promotional strategies that align with stock management goals and market trends.
- Provide Customer Support: When time permits, offer direct support to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction while gathering valuable insights into customer needs and preferences.
