Build your sales career. Create opportunity. Make an impact.
Talma Europe is growing, and we’re looking for an ambitious Sales Executive to join our Commercial team and help create the next wave of new-business opportunities across the UK and selected European markets.
This is a fast-paced, phone-first and digitally enabled sales role for someone who enjoys speaking to people, opening doors and turning a first conversation into a genuine commercial opportunity.
You might already have experience in telesales, lead generation, recruitment, customer service or another target-driven environment. Equally, you may be earlier in your commercial career but able to demonstrate the drive, resilience and curiosity to succeed.
What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn and your determination to deliver.
At Talma, progression isn’t simply about time served. It’s earned through performance, development and readiness. If you want to build a long-term career in sales, this is an opportunity to learn from experienced commercial colleagues while progressively gaining exposure to the full sales cycle.
What you’ll be doing
Prospecting, lead generation and qualification
A significant part of your role will be about creating new opportunities. You will:
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists aligned with our commercial priorities and ideal client profiles.
- Generate new-business opportunities through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, events and campaigns.
- Research organisations, decision-makers, travel programmes and relevant commercial triggers before making contact.
- Confidently engage prospective customers and identify where Talma may be able to add value.
- Ask purposeful questions to understand need and qualify potential opportunities.
- Book high-quality meetings for yourself and senior Commercial colleagues.
- Maintain momentum through professional, structured and timely follow-up.
This is not about simply working through a call list. We want you to understand who you are approaching, why you are approaching them and what might matter to their business.
Owning your pipeline and performance
Our value of Own It is central to this role.
You will take responsibility for your activity, follow-up, pipeline contribution and results by:
- Maintaining complete and accurate CRM records.
- Recording contacts, activities, opportunities, outcomes and next steps consistently.
- Tracking weekly measures including calls, conversations, meetings and qualified opportunities.
- Using data and coaching to understand what is working and where you can improve.
- Managing your priorities and pipeline proactively.
- Escalating blockers or support requirements early.
- Working towards clear activity, opportunity and pipeline targets.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We want someone who is comfortable being measured but also curious enough to understand the story behind the numbers.
Supporting the sales journey
As your experience and capability grow, so will your exposure to the wider sales cycle. You will:
- Support the preparation of proposals, presentations, tenders and RFP responses.
- Work closely with Marketing to ensure inbound enquiries and campaign responses are followed up quickly.
- Participate in discovery and prospective client meetings.
- Develop confidence presenting Talma’s proposition.
- Learn how to respond effectively to common commercial objections.
- Take increasing ownership of suitable opportunities with coaching and support.
- Gain exposure to negotiation, close and successful handover into the wider business.
Developing commercial and market knowledge
You’ll become a student of both our customers and our market.
You will:
- Research industry trends, competitors, target sectors and changing buyer priorities.
- Listen carefully to what prospects are telling us and share insight with the wider Commercial team.
- Identify recurring objections, potential opportunities and emerging market themes.
- Contribute ideas for improving campaigns, messaging and prospecting approaches.
- Build strong knowledge of the corporate travel and Travel Management Company market.
- Develop your understanding of Talma’s services, solutions and technology ecosystem.
Building your career
We see this role as an opportunity to develop future commercial talent within Talma.
You’ll take part in:
- Structured sales training.
- Call coaching and feedback.
- Role play and development sessions.
- Client meeting shadowing.
- Networking and industry events.
- Selected negotiations and commercial discussions alongside experienced colleagues.
As your capability grows, we’ll expect you to take progressively greater ownership.
Your progression will be determined by your results, behaviours, commercial judgement, consistency and readiness not simply the length of time you have been in the role.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys engaging new people and is comfortable creating conversations rather than waiting for opportunities to arrive.
You should bring:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence speaking with prospective customers by phone, video, LinkedIn and face-to-face.
- The ability to write concise, professional prospecting and follow-up messages.
- Resilience and persistence when dealing with rejection.
- Curiosity and a willingness to research organisations before approaching them.
- The confidence to ask purposeful questions rather than simply follow a script.
- Strong organisation and personal discipline.
- The ability to manage a high level of activity while maintaining accurate CRM records.
- Confidence working towards targets, KPIs and conversion measures.
- A willingness to use data to understand and improve your performance.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to adapt your communication style.
- Confidence learning new technology and sales platforms.
- A positive and professional approach.
- Strong personal accountability.
- A genuine willingness to receive feedback and act on it.
