About Us
Garon Park Golf Complex is one of Southend’s leading sports and leisure destinations, owned and operated by the Norman Garon Trust, a local charity dedicated to improving community life through sport, wellbeing, and charitable initiatives.
Our facilities include a golf complex, clubhouse, driving range, café, bar, and event spaces, welcoming golfers, visitors, and community groups throughout the year.
We are now seeking a Sales Executive to join our team and help maximise the commercial potential of our facilities by converting enquiries, developing new opportunities, and working closely with our marketing and operational teams.
The Role
Reporting to the relevant senior manager, you will play a key role in generating and converting new business across Garon Park Golf Complex. This is a customer-focused and commercially driven role, suited to someone who is confident communicating with customers, proactive in following up opportunities, and motivated by achieving results.
You will be responsible for managing inbound enquiries, supporting the marketing team in generating new leads, and working closely with department heads to identify opportunities to increase the utilisation and revenue of our facilities.
The role will involve promoting the full range of Garon Park’s facilities, including golf, the driving range, events, functions, hospitality, and other leisure opportunities, ensuring that every enquiry is maximised and converted wherever possible.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered in line with the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to inbound sales enquiries across the full range of Garon Park facilities
- Follow up enquiries proactively and convert opportunities into bookings and revenue
- Work closely with the marketing team to generate new enquiries and support lead-generation campaigns
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell Garon Park’s facilities and services
- Liaise with department heads to understand availability, capacity, and opportunities to maximise facility utilisation
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, local organisations, businesses, and community groups
- Promote Garon Park as a venue for golf, events, functions, hospitality, and other activities
- Ensure all customer enquiries are managed promptly and professionally from initial contact through to booking
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, leads, conversions, and sales activity
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Work with operational teams to ensure customer requirements can be delivered effectively
- Support the development of new commercial opportunities and partnerships
- Contribute ideas to improve the customer journey and increase revenue across the business

About You
You will be a confident, enthusiastic, and commercially minded individual who enjoys speaking to customers and turning opportunities into sales.
You will be proactive in your approach, comfortable managing multiple enquiries, and have the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues across the organisation.
You will be naturally driven to identify opportunities, solve problems, and find ways to maximise the use of Garon Park’s facilities. You will also be organised, professional, and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a sales, customer service, business development, or similar commercial role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident speaking to customers by telephone, email, and in person
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- A proactive approach to following up leads and converting enquiries
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the sales process
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively with marketing and operational teams
- Good IT skills and confidence using systems to manage customer enquiries and sales activity
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of opportunities
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working within a leisure, sports, hospitality, events, or venue environment
- Experience using CRM or sales management systems
- Experience working alongside a marketing team on lead-generation campaigns
- Experience in business development or partnership sales
- Knowledge of golf or the wider leisure industry
- Experience of selling events, functions, memberships, or venue hire
