The role offers a varied mix of sales, business development, technical quotation work, supplier liaison, and customer engagement, including office and site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full sales cycle for Poundfield’s retaining wall products, from initial enquiry and quotation through to order completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries by telephone, email, and in person.
- Interpret technical drawings and prepare accurate, competitive project quotations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of our products, manufacturing processes, and technical capabilities.
- Obtain and compare costs from existing and new suppliers, supporting effective procurement.
- Maintain commercial awareness and develop a strong network of industry contacts.
- Use Barbour ABI to identify potential projects, leads, and business development opportunities.
- Visit customers and clients for office meetings and site visits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
