Vertu Mercedes-Benz of Reading
We are looking for a customer-focused individual with experience in the motor trade to join the team at Vertu Mercedes-Benz of Reading as a Sales Executive.
This role offers a great basic salary with the opportunity to earn significant commission, with earnings well in excess of our on-target level of £50,000, plus a company car.
In addition to fantastic earning potential, we’ll also provide true work-life balance. You’ll work a 40-hour week, with weekends included – but we’re currently trialling closing on Sundays, giving you even more time to recharge.
You don’t necessarily need to be an experienced Sales Executive to be considered. We’re interested in people who have built a stable career within the motor trade and can demonstrate strong customer-facing experience. Whether your background is in vehicle sales, service, aftersales or another customer-focused automotive role, if you have the right attitude, communication skills and understanding of the motor industry, we can provide the training and support to help you succeed.
As part of our team, you’ll represent Mercedes-Benz, delivering the premium level of service customers expect from one of the world’s most recognised automotive brands. You’ll receive full training and a thorough onboarding programme, giving you the tools and knowledge to maximise both your performance and earning potential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
