Sales Executive | Gifts and FMCG | Hampshire | Permanent

Are you a commercially minded Sales Executive who enjoys building customer relationships and spotting opportunities to grow accounts? Read on if you’re looking for a role where proactive selling, customer insight and great follow-up really matter.

Our Partner:

Our partner is an established UK business specialising in big brand name gifts, stationary and FMCG. This is a collaborative, customer-focused organisation where commercial thinking, positive relationships and a comprehensive understanding of retail sit at the heart of the sales approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow your customer portfolio: Take commercial ownership of an allocated group of UK customers, working towards revenue, retention, reactivation, account-growth and online-ordering objectives.
  • Build proactive customer relationships: Develop a strong understanding of each customer, their shoppers, product mix and trading patterns, maintaining purposeful and regular contact and following actions through to completion.
  • Spot opportunities and protect revenue: Use sales history, order frequency, average order value and customer insight to identify declining spend, range gaps, top-up opportunities and accounts with further growth potential.
  • Reactivate and support customers: Re-engage dormant and lapsed accounts, understand the reasons behind inactivity and find an appropriate route back to trading, while helping customers make effective use of online ordering.
  • Collaborate and keep information accurate: Maintain clear CRM, pipeline and forecast information, working closely with field sales and teams across the wider business to resolve issues, manage account handovers and provide a consistent customer experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience and Skills that will Deliver Success in this Role:

The right candidate will be a proactive, commercially curious sales professional who enjoys owning customer relationships and turning insight into action. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple accounts remotely, initiating conversations rather than waiting for enquiries, and using customer and sales data to make practical recommendations.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in internal sales, telesales, account management, customer development or another commercial customer-facing role.
  • A track record of developing customer relationships and generating sales through telephone, email and digital channels.
  • Commercial confidence when discussing products, ranges and opportunities, with the ability to interpret sales information and translate it into relevant recommendations.
  • Strong communication, questioning, listening and influencing skills, alongside an organised approach to portfolio management and follow-up.
  • Confidence using CRM, order-management, e-commerce and standard business systems, with accurate record keeping and the ability to work effectively across different teams.

  • Experience within gifting, greetings or another consumer-product environment.
  • Experience working with independent retailers or other business-to-business customers.
  • Previous involvement in reactivating customers, retaining account revenue or encouraging online ordering.
  • An understanding of seasonal retail trading, product ranges and replenishment.

The Opportunity:

This role offers more ownership than a traditional internal sales or order-processing position. You’ll manage your own portfolio, build customer relationships and have clear opportunities to influence revenue, retention and account growth. It could particularly suit someone who enjoys the relationship-building side of account management but also wants measurable commercial responsibility, with the autonomy to spot an opportunity and act on it.

  • Working pattern: Full time, permanent; Flexible - preferably 3 days in office and 2 days working from home
  • Reports to: Head of UK Sales
