Sales Executive - Ceramics

Location: Hockley, Essex
Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 - DOE
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Benefits: Hybrid working available following an initial office-based training period

Our client is a specialist business working with bespoke ceramic sheets, including assembly, shaping and lettering to meet customer requirements. Due to continued business growth, they are looking to appoint a Sales Executive to support their expansion and drive new business opportunities.

This is a newly created position, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the ceramics industry to join a close-knit team and play an important role in the company's continued success.

Sales Executive - Position Overview

  • Make outbound sales calls to prospective and existing customers to generate new business opportunities.
  • Identify potential customers and develop relationships to secure larger orders.
  • Proactively follow up on sales enquiries, quotations and potential orders.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships within the ceramics industry.
  • Understand customer requirements and communicate the company's products and services effectively.
  • Work closely with the office and warehouse teams to support the smooth progression of customer orders.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity and follow-up tasks using software.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
  • Manage sales activity independently, prioritising leads and following up opportunities effectively.

Sales Executive - Position Requirements

  • Previous experience within the ceramics industry is highly desirable.
  • Previous sales, telesales, business development or account management experience.
  • Confident making outbound calls and engaging with prospective customers.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive, commercially minded and motivated to generate new business.
  • Organised, with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and sales opportunities.
  • Comfortable using computer systems, with a willingness to learn Zoho software; training will be provided.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing specialist business in a newly created sales role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the sales function, build valuable industry relationships and make a tangible contribution to the company's expansion.

The role will initially be office-based for the first couple of months to allow for training and integration with the team, with the opportunity to move towards hybrid working thereafter.
