Job Overview
Relationship-led. Commercially driven.
We’re looking for a confident, ambitious and commercially minded Sales Executive to join the RADIX team and help drive our next phase of growth.
This is a genuine sales role. You’ll be responsible for creating opportunities, understanding customer needs, progressing conversations through the sales pipeline and converting the right opportunities into profitable, long-term business for RADIX.
We don’t believe great sales means being pushy or transactional. Our products are technical, our customers are varied and some opportunities take time to develop. Success comes from asking intelligent questions, listening properly, understanding the commercial opportunity and confidently agreeing the next step.
You’ll initially work with our established HubSpot database, including previous enquiries, dormant opportunities and prospective customers, while developing the product knowledge and commercial confidence to build your own pipeline, customer relationships and accounts.
Ultimately, your role is simple: create opportunities, add value, progress them professionally and turn great conversations into profitable business.
What You Will Be Doing
- Proactively work our existing HubSpot database, reconnecting with previous enquiries, dormant opportunities and prospective customers.
- Make outbound calls and initiate confident, natural conversations with potential customers and target accounts.
- Respond to inbound sales enquiries with pace, professionalism and clear commercial intent.
- Use effective discovery to understand the customer, their project, challenges, timescale, decision process, requirements and commercial potential.
- Qualify opportunities properly and agree clear next actions to keep genuine opportunities moving forward.
- Prepare and follow up quotations and proposals, developing the confidence to handle objections, negotiate appropriately and ask for the order.
- Take ownership of opportunities through the sales pipeline from initial conversation through to order and handover.
- Develop dormant, occasional and existing customers into stronger, more active RADIX accounts.
- Identify cross-sell and wider opportunities across RADIX products, equipment and solutions.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline capable of supporting agreed individual and company sales targets.
- Maintain accurate, timely CRM records, including activities, next steps, opportunity values, expected close dates and reasons for wins and losses.
- Work closely with the wider commercial, technical, marketing and operational teams to provide customers with the right solution and a first-class experience.
- Develop strong technical and commercial knowledge of RADIX products, applications, sectors and target markets.
- Take ownership of personal sales performance, activity levels, pipeline development, conversion and revenue targets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
- A genuine sales mindset - motivated by creating opportunities, achieving targets and seeing your efforts turn into results.
- Confident and comfortable speaking with customers and prospective customers by telephone, video call and face-to-face.
- Naturally personable, with the ability to build rapport and trusted commercial relationships.
- Commercially curious and willing to ask good questions rather than simply take an enquiry at face value.
- Resilient and persistent. You understand that not every conversation becomes an opportunity and not every opportunity becomes an order.
- Able to listen carefully, identify customer needs and confidently progress conversations towards a clear next step.
- Self-motivated, organised, reliable and comfortable taking ownership without constant supervision.
- Comfortable working to structured activity, pipeline, conversion and revenue expectations.
- Disciplined in the use of CRM systems and follow-up processes.
- Willing and able to learn technical products and develop strong commercial knowledge.
- A team player who values excellent customer experience as much as commercial success.
- Ambitious and interested in developing into a broader sales, account management or business development role as RADIX grows.
- Previous sales, business development or commercially focused account management experience would be advantageous, although attitude, ambition, resilience and a genuine desire to succeed in sales are equally important.
