Internal Sales Executive – Construction Products

£30,000 basic with monthly bonus (£40,000 OTE)
Chester / Cheshire

Company Overview

A well-established UK manufacturer and supplier of premium construction products is looking to strengthen its Chester branch. This role will directly support sales growth by converting customer enquiries and quotations into orders across retail, trade and commercial markets.

The business supplies high-quality products into the construction, building materials, landscaping and security sectors. It offers a stable working environment, ongoing product training and the opportunity to develop specialist technical and commercial knowledge.

Job Overview

The Internal Sales Executive will manage customer enquiries from initial contact through to completed order. Working closely with the Regional Branch Manager, Operations, Production and Transport teams, the successful candidate will prepare quotations, proactively follow up opportunities and develop long-term relationships with new and existing customers. Success will be measured through quotation conversion, repeat business, customer service and contribution towards branch sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer enquiries by telephone, email and face-to-face.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable construction-product solutions.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, estimates and commercial tenders.
  • Proactively follow up quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed orders.
  • Develop relationships with retail, trade, contractor and commercial customers.
  • Generate repeat business and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Manage orders through to completion and keep customers informed throughout.
  • Maintain accurate customer, quotation and sales activity within the CRM system.
  • Contribute towards branch sales targets while supporting daily branch operations.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in internal sales, sales support, customer service, account management or a trade-counter environment.
  • Confident managing enquiries, preparing quotations and following up sales opportunities.
  • Experience within timber, construction, manufacturing, fencing, builders’ merchants or building materials would be advantageous.
  • B2B sales and CRM or order-processing experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Forklift experience is desirable, although training can be provided.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential due to the branch location.

Benefits

  • Starting salary - £30,000 per annum.
  • Monthly bonus - £10,000 OTE
  • Permanent, full-time position with Monday-to-Friday hours.
  • Company pension contribution following the qualifying period.
