Handle Recruitment is working with an award-winning events and conference business to recruit a junior sales professional to join their delegate sales team.

Hybrid | 4 days per week in South West London Up to £30,000 plus uncapped commission French would be useful but is not essential.

The Opportunity

Join our client, a leading producer of investment conferences focused on Africa's energy sector. With a strong reputation for delivering high-profile industry events, they also host targeted investment meetings across emerging markets with significant power generation potential, with recent events taking place across Europe, North America, Africa and Latin America.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of the most exciting and fast-growing sectors in the world: the African power sector. You will be responsible for selling specific events across an established portfolio of conferences, building relationships with senior decision-makers and organisations across the energy industry.

Reporting to the Group Director of Sales Performance, this is a phone-based sales role focused on establishing new and developing existing client relationships. The ideal candidate will be professional, commercially minded and confident, with a strong understanding of successful sales processes. They will be a self-starter, motivated by targets and committed to continually improving their performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Selling over the phone to existing and potential new clients to meet revenue targets
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through a consultative sales approach
  • Demonstrating the value of attending conferences and events
  • Keeping up to date with market developments and identifying new sales opportunities
  • Maintaining high standards of customer care
  • Supporting strategies and initiatives to drive the growth of the events
  • Liaising with Marketing and Line Managers on enquiries, up selling, database updates, new business and group sales
  • Producing reports and monitoring competitor activity
  • Supporting the accounts team with timely customer payments
