Sales Executive – Coated Abrasives
Outline: A fantastic opportunity to join a leading UK stockist of a German manufacturer within the Coated Abrasives industry. Dealing with the UK Automotive, Flooring & Metal working industries and selling via distribution. Looking for an enthusiastic and professional salesperson to drive sales and growth in the North of England.
The company:
- Leading UK stockist of Coated Abrasives for uses within the Automotive, Flooring and Metal Working industries
- Owned by a German manufacturer, so they supply a wide range of good quality products
- They have a fantastic reputation in the market and have a very fast reaction time which ensures good customer retention
- They are growing constantly, currently turning over circa £2million in the UK and growing that towards £3million
The package:
- £38K-£45K Basic Salary
- Bonus is based on growth, and they get a % of turnover of growth after inflation – realistic OTE would be circa £5k but it is UNCAPPED

The role:
As the Sales Executive, you will be working for a leading UK stockist who are owned by a German Manufacturer within the Coated Abrasives industry:
- Selling Coated abrasives such as Sand Paper, Orbital Sanders and derivatives into the Automotive, Flooring & Metal Working industries across the North of England
- Selling via distributors mainly and they have an average spend of £500-£5,000 monthly
- Area currently turning over £350k and would like to grow that to circa £750k over 5 years or so
- The role will be a mix of growing existing accounts and increasing the spend within them 70% and then looking for new business 30%
- There are about 60 accounts on patch and only a handful are currently up to their spending capacity
- The role will be 3-4 days per week on the road and the remainder from home doing planning, admin and booking appointments

The ideal person:
- The ideal background would be someone with knowledge of and having sold abrasives in the past
- They will also consider people with experience having sold consumables into the relevant customer base such as car repairs, wood flooring, metal working or having sold paint into the car industry
- They will also consider people who have been working in the MRO / Industrial Consumables market
- NO JOB HOPPERS – They like people with stability in their career
- MUST be able to work independently as they will not be micro-managed
