I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Residential + Hospitality
The role will have a strong focus on the high-end residential and hospitality interiors sectors. You will work with both private clients and professional specifiers, so an understanding of how furniture is selected, specified and purchased for residential and hospitality projects would be particularly valuable.
Experience working with the A&D community — architects and interior designers — would also be highly relevant.
Package
£40,000–£45,000 base salary + commission
The commission structure offers strong earning potential for someone who can develop new relationships, grow accounts and consistently convert opportunities.
The Opportunity
You will be joining an established London showroom with a strong product offer, recognised design credentials and an existing market presence. There is already a platform to sell from, but the opportunity is for someone who wants to go further: build their own network, develop a substantial client base and create long-term commercial relationships across the London design industry.
This would particularly suit someone who loves furniture and interiors but thinks like a salesperson.
