The Business
THAT TIME is a UK booking and payments platform for beauty salons, barbershops, and wellness studios.
Three years in, we've processed over £100 million in bookings for more than 2,000 salons. We charge a flat monthly subscription and take no commission on our salons' bookings — which is why they leave the incumbents to join us.
We're a team of five. That's not a typo. Five people built a platform moving nine figures of booking revenue, and we're now hiring to scale properly: sales, marketing, design, in-house engineering. You'd be one of the first through the door on the commercial side, working directly with the founders.
This isn't a company looking for its product-market fit. It's one that found it and now needs to go faster.
The Role
You own the full sales cycle. You find the salon, you pitch the salon, you close the salon, and you get them live and taking bookings.
Most of your week is calls and DMs. When that isn't filling your diary, you're out on your patch — walking into salons and barbershops, asking for the owner, having a conversation.
There's no quota on doorsteps. If your phone pipeline is full and you're booked out, stay on the phone. But you have to be willing to go knock when it isn't, because that's how a thin week gets fixed. If pushing open a door and introducing yourself makes you uncomfortable, this isn't your role.
What that looks like day to day:
- Building your own pipeline. We'll give you a patch, the tools, and the talk track. Finding the salons is on you — cold calls, DMs, walk-ins, referrals from happy clients.
- Running the pitch. In person or on a demo. You'll know our product inside out and you'll know exactly why a salon owner should care.
- Closing. Subscription signed, card details in, done.
- Getting them live. You walk the owner through setup, get their calendar and services loaded, and stay on them until they've taken their first real booking through the platform. This is the part that matters most. A salon that signs up and never goes live is a salon we've lost. Once they're up and running, our in-app support team takes over.
- Feeding back. You'll be the person in the market hearing what salon owners actually say. When you spot a pattern — an objection that keeps landing, a feature that keeps coming up, a competitor doing something clever — you bring it to us and we act on it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
How we work
We're remote most days. The whole team is London-based, so if you're here too, you'll see us more and that's a good thing — but it isn't a requirement, and we'll happily hire the right person elsewhere in the UK.
The floor is two team meet-ups a month. There's no ceiling. Some months we'll want more time together — a push, a launch, a new starter finding their feet — and we'll say so. Other months two is plenty. We dial it up and down depending on what's actually going on rather than defending a policy.
It's a full-time, 40-hour contract. How you spend those 40 hours is largely yours — you build your patch, you run your diary — and we judge you on live salons.
What you'll earn
Base: £26,000.
Commission: uncapped, tiered, paid monthly. The more you sell in a month, the more every additional sale is worth:
- Sales 1–15: £0 per sale
- Sales 16–30: £20 per sale
- Sales 31–40: £30 per sale
- Sales 41–50: £40 per sale
- Sales 51–60: £60 per sale
- Sales 61–70: £70 per sale
- Sales 71–80: £80 per sale
- Sales 81–90: £90 per sale
- Sales 91+: £100 per sale
The counter resets each month. A 40-sale month pays £600. A 70-sale month pays £2,300. A 100-sale month pays £5,000. There is no ceiling.
Quarterly performance bonus: up to £2,500, based on quality, not volume. Paid on the mix of what you sell — specifically on winning multi-staff salons rather than solo operators. Bigger salons stay longer and grow with us, so we pay you to go after them.
Clawback: commission is reversed if an account cancels or never takes a booking within 60 days of signing. We're telling you this upfront because it's the whole philosophy of the role — we don't want signatures, we want live salons. Sell honestly, onboard properly, and you'll never see a clawback.
What we expect, and when
We're not going to pretend you'll be flying in week two. Here's the honest ramp:

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
- Month 1: learning the product, the market, and the pitch. Shadowing, then your first solo closes.
- Month 3: around 30 sales a month. You're comfortable on the phone and on the doorstep.
- Month 6: around 50 a month. You've got a rhythm and a patch that knows you.
- Month 9+: 70+. This is where the commission plan starts paying properly and where our best people live.
You'll have a weekly one-to-one with a founder for as long as you need it. We've got five people — nobody here gets left to sink.
Who we're looking for
Non-negotiable:
- You're comfortable being told no, repeatedly, and going again. This job is mostly rejection punctuated by wins.
- You can hold a conversation with a busy salon owner who didn't ask to speak to you and doesn't have time. Warmth beats polish.
- You're organised enough to run your own diary without being chased.
- You can get around your patch to see salons in person. Outside London that realistically means a driving licence and a car; in London it doesn't.
- You want the money. This plan rewards people who are motivated by it and disappoints people who aren't.
Nice to have, not required:
- Any sales experience at all — retail, hospitality, door-to-door, phones, charity fundraising. It all counts.
- Experience in or around the beauty, barber, or wellness industry.
- You've run your own thing, however small.
This is probably not for you if: you want a script and a queue of inbound leads, you'd rather email than call, or you're looking for a role where the target is the ceiling.
Why take it
- Your future is in your hands. There are five of us. No queue ahead of you, no fixed ladder to climb, no one sitting in the seat you want. Perform and you get a real say in where you go next — leading a sales team, account management, or something we haven't drawn up yet. Perform is the operative word. Nothing here gets handed out on tenure.
- Real access. You'll sit with the founders, not three layers below them. What you say about the market changes what we build.
- A product people actually want. No commission on bookings, transparent pricing, and 2,000 salons already using it. You're not selling vapourware.
- Uncapped means uncapped. We've built the plan so that your best month is your best-paid month. We don't move the goalposts.
