Hours: 08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday although flexibility to work outside these hours is required

At Grundon Sand & Gravel, we are on the lookout for a dynamic, passionate, and driven Sales Executive to join our team based in Beenham.

Reporting into the General Manager you will play an important role in supporting our mission of leaving a better planet for future generations. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, strengthening and growing relationships with existing customers, and overseeing the full order lifecycle from initial enquiry through to delivery and after-sales support.

What will you do

  • Drive new business growth by proactively identifying and developing opportunities through cold calling, market research, networking and targeted sales activity,
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts, building strong relationships through regular contact, courtesy calls and customer visits.
  • Turn enquiries into sales by responding promptly and professionally to customer enquiries,
  • Build lasting customer relationships by delivering a high level of service and acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the sales and order process.
  • Work closely with the Accounts and Credit Control teams to resolve account and payment queries efficiently.
  • Manage customer complaints and service issues with professionalism and a positive approach,
  • Maintain accurate sales and customer records, ensuring all customer, sales and activity information is kept up to date and recorded in line with Company procedures.
  • Prepare and submit monthly sales report to the Sales Manager, covering sales results, customer activity, new business opportunities and pipeline development.
  • Stay commercially informed by maintaining a strong knowledge of the Company's aggregate products, services, pricing and market conditions, enabling you to provide customers with accurate, knowledgeable and commercially focused advice

About you

  • 2+ years’ sales experience required, with experience in quarrying, aggregates, construction or a related industry desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the confidence to build strong, lasting relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to turn opportunities into results.
  • A positive, proactive and confident ‘can-do’ attitude, with a genuine drive to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Highly organised and commercially focused, with excellent time management and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, databases and sales systems.
  • Numerate and commercially aware, with confidence working with figures, pricing and sales information.
  • Ability to work independently and the ability to collaborate effectively across the wider business.
  • Full UK driving license
