About the Role
We’re seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to generate new business for our Print and Document Solutions within SS&C Technologies. As part of a growing commercial team, you’ll focus on building, managing, and expanding a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
Your key responsibility is to develop inbound mailroom, document processing, and customer communications solutions for organisations requiring secure, scalable, and compliant document management. This includes inbound post handling, digitisation, print production, regulatory communications, and customer correspondence.
You’ll focus on the early-stage sales cycle, from prospecting and decision-maker engagement to closing long-term client partnerships. Collaboration with operational, solution design, and marketing teams will allow you to tailor solutions to address client challenges and drive operational efficiency, compliance, and cost savings.

- Proactively identify new business opportunities for print, mailroom, document management, and customer communication solutions across industries including financial services, insurance, pensions, utilities, and public sector.

Prospecting & Outreach
- Utilise telephone, email, social media, networking, industry referrals, and events to engage prospective clients and spark interest in SS&C offerings.

Pipeline Management
- Build, manage, and maintain a strong sales pipeline through effective CRM utilisation, ensuring consistent follow-ups and opportunity progression.

Client Discovery & Qualification
- Engage prospects to analyse their current document management practices, pinpointing opportunities for improvement in efficiency, compliance, customer experience, and cost-control.

Solution Development
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop tailored proposals for inbound mail management, digitisation, print production, fulfilment, electronic communications, and correspondence solutions.

Sales Reporting
- Provide accurate pipeline forecasts, activity reports, and sales updates to leadership for strategic revenue planning.

Networking & Market Development
- Represent SS&C at industry events, conferences, and meetings to expand market presence and build new business relationships.

Market Intelligence
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, customer communication strategies, print technologies, and competitive offerings to position SS&C effectively.
What You Will Bring
To thrive in this role, we seek:
- Proven experience in business development, lead generation, or sales within print services, document management, mailroom outsourcing, business process outsourcing (BPO), or customer communication management.

A hunter mentality with a track record of identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities.

Experience selling outsourcing and operational services to mid-market and enterprise organisations.

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers.

CRM proficiency, including pipeline management tools and techniques.

Self-motivation, high organisational ability, and comfort managing multiple opportunities concurrently.

Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on achieving revenue and growth targets.

Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and business development activities.
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Industry-specific knowledge of inbound mailroom operations, document scanning, digitisation, print production, and customer communications management.
- Experience in financial services, pensions, insurance, healthcare, or utilities (regulatory-driven industries).
- Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., customer communications standards, data protection, and document retention).
