Sales Executive – Ireland & Northern Ireland Wendy Wu Tours

Reporting to: Business Development Manager, Ireland

Territory: Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland

Department: Sales

Role Type: Full-time

The Role

The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing Wendy Wu Tours' presence across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

This is a dual B2B and B2C sales role, with responsibility for growing revenue across all relevant distribution channels. The successful candidate will develop new business opportunities while increasing productivity, sales, and market share from existing accounts and channels.

The role will require an individual who is highly motivated, commercially focused, and passionate about travel, with the ability to build strong relationships across the travel trade and directly with consumers.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Deliver agreed sales revenue and booking targets across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed KPIs across sales revenue, bookings, product, and destination performance.
  • Develop and execute plans to deliver sales growth across the territory.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across all relevant distribution sectors.
  • Increase productivity, revenue, and sales growth from existing accounts, partnerships, and distribution channels.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase Wendy Wu Tours' market share and visibility.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure all opportunities are followed up effectively.
  • Monitor sales performance and use commercial insight and market intelligence to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Work closely with internal teams to maximise sales opportunities and deliver an excellent customer and trade experience.

Distribution & Channel Development

Develop sales through all relevant distribution sectors, including:

  • Travel agencies and retail travel partners.
  • B2C direct customers.
  • Home-based travel agents.
  • Online sales channels.
  • Corporate travel partners.
  • Specialist travel agencies and specialist partnerships.
  • Affiliate partnerships and other relevant third-party distribution channels.

The successful candidate will be expected to understand the different requirements and opportunities presented by each channel and develop appropriate strategies to maximise sales.

Travel Trade & Account Management

  • Develop strong, long-term commercial relationships with travel agency partners and other trade accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase productivity and sales from existing accounts.
  • Develop account plans for key and high-potential partners.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, account reviews, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Educate travel partners on Wendy Wu Tours' destinations, itineraries, inclusions, product USPs, and customer proposition.
  • Support agents in converting customer enquiries into bookings.
  • Identify underperforming accounts and implement appropriate sales development activity.
  • Develop relationships with new agencies and partners to expand Wendy Wu Tours' distribution network.
  • Represent Wendy Wu Tours at travel trade events, roadshows, exhibitions, networking events, and other industry activities.

B2C Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Support the growth of direct-to-consumer sales across the territory.
  • Respond professionally to customer enquiries and sales opportunities.
  • Build confidence and trust with customers through excellent destination and product knowledge.
  • Convert enquiries into bookings and maximise opportunities to upsell and cross-sell where appropriate.
  • Support campaigns and initiatives designed to drive direct sales.
  • Promote Wendy Wu Tours' customer proposition, destinations, and fully inclusive touring experience.

Product & Destination Knowledge

  • Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of the full Wendy Wu Tours product portfolio and destinations.
  • Understand product performance by destination, itinerary, and distribution channel.
  • Stay informed about destination developments, market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
  • Use product and destination knowledge to inspire customers and travel partners.
  • Confidently communicate the benefits and unique selling points of Wendy Wu Tours' authentic, fully inclusive touring holidays.

Customer Loyalty & Travel Agency Rewards

  • Actively promote and develop the Wendy Wu Tours customer loyalty programme.
  • Encourage customer engagement, repeat bookings, and long-term loyalty to the Wendy Wu Tours brand.
  • Support initiatives designed to increase customer retention and lifetime value.
  • Promote and develop Wendy Wu Tours' travel agency reward scheme, encouraging agency partners to increase sales and bookings.
  • Identify opportunities to use loyalty and reward programmes as tools for driving incremental sales and strengthening customer and trade relationships.

Marketing & Sales Activity

  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to support local sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide feedback on market conditions, customer trends, competitor activity, and trade requirements.
  • Support the delivery of tactical sales campaigns and promotional activity.
  • Identify opportunities for localised sales activity across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Support events, presentations, and initiatives designed to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversion.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Take ownership of agreed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Monitor and report performance against revenue, booking, product, and destination targets.
  • Analyse account and channel performance to identify opportunities for increased productivity and growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, sales activity, and pipeline information.
  • Provide regular market and sales feedback to the Business Development Manager, Ireland.
  • Attend weekly virtual sales meetings and contribute positively to team discussions and business updates.

Internal Collaboration & Company Representation

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Reservations, and other departments.
  • Attend the company's monthly face-to-face all-staff meeting in London.
  • Participate in relevant international travel, trade events, and company activities as required.
  • Represent Wendy Wu Tours professionally at all times, including meetings, events, trade visits, and customer interactions.
  • Demonstrate Wendy Wu Tours' company values and maintain the highest standards of professionalism in all internal and external relationships.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the Wendy Wu Tours brand throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working within the travel industry. This is an essential requirement.

You will also need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant travel industry experience.
  • Proven experience in a sales, business development, or account management role within the travel industry.
  • A demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience working with travel agencies and/or other travel distribution channels.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how different distribution channels generate sales.
  • Excellent B2B and B2C sales and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of travel products, destinations, and the wider travel industry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a territory independently.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented approach.
  • Strong IT and CRM skills.
  • Own roadworthy motor vehicle, suitable for the requirements of a territory-based sales role.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Willingness to travel to London for monthly face-to-face all-staff meetings.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel when required.

  • Effective collaboration with the wider Wendy Wu Tours team.
  • A proactive contribution to the continued growth and development of Wendy Wu Tours in the Irish market.

Remuneration Package and Benefits:

  • Salary up to €40,000 per annum dependent on experience
  • Car allowance €400 per calendar month
  • Mileage 0.45c
  • Bonus up to 20% of salary incorporates monthly and annual targeted scheme
