Help energy and commodities firms navigate volatile markets with confidence
Across the DACH & CEE region, energy companies, utilities and commodity trading firms are operating in increasingly complex and volatile markets.
Power and gas trading is becoming more dynamic. Renewables are reshaping generation and supply. Regulatory scrutiny is increasing. And many organisations are still reliant on fragmented legacy trading systems that limit visibility, risk control and operational efficiency.
At FIS, our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platform – Aligne sits at the centre of clients’ trading, risk and operations landscape—enabling firms to manage the full trade lifecycle, gain real-time exposure insight, and operate with control in fast-moving markets.
We’re now looking for a German-speaking Senior Sales Executive to expand our footprint across the DACH & CEE region, partnering with utilities, energy traders and commodity firms as they modernise their trading environments.
The impact you’ll have
This role is about more than delivering revenue—it’s about helping clients solve mission-critical trading and risk challenges.
You’ll:
- Win new logos across the DACH & CEE energy and commodities market
- Help organisations improve trading visibility, reduce risk exposure, and optimise operations
- Enable real-time insights across trading, risk and logistics
- Build long-term client partnerships at senior stakeholder level
You’ll do this within a collaborative, high-performing sales environment, working closely with presales, product and delivery teams to win and execute complex deals.
What you’ll be selling
You’ll represent FIS Energy Trading Solutions (Aligne ETRM), covering:
- Trade capture and lifecycle management across power, gas, oil and renewables
- Real-time position management and P&L visibility
- Market and credit risk analytics (VaR, stress testing, exposure)
- Scheduling, nominations and logistics for physical commodities
- Back-office operations including settlements, invoicing and reporting

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
