Sales Executive
Liverpool, L34 9FB
£10.85–£12.71 per hour depending on age, plus commission
Full-time and flexible working patterns available
Got The T-Shirt is recruiting exclusively for a growing field marketing and sales business building a new venue sales team across Liverpool & Merseyside for one of the UK’s leading energy providers.
This is a face-to-face sales role based at pre-booked retail venues, including supermarkets and shopping centres.
You’ll speak to customers about their energy options and help those who are interested understand whether switching provider is right for them. There is no cold calling or door-to-door selling. However, this is a proactive sales role, so you’ll need to be comfortable approaching people, starting conversations and staying positive when customers aren’t interested.
This is a PAYE employed role, not a self-employed or commission-only position. You’ll receive guaranteed hourly pay for every shift you work, plus uncapped commission for successful customer activations.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively approaching customers at supermarkets, shopping centres and other pre-booked retail venues.
- Starting conversations, building rapport and understanding customers' needs.
- Clearly explaining the available energy products and answering customer questions.
- Helping suitable customers complete the switching application process accurately.
- Working towards individual sales targets, including an expected minimum of two successful sales per day.
- Following the required sales and compliance processes at all times.
- Representing Elite Field Marketing and its energy partner professionally.
- Working alongside other Sales Advisors and supporting the wider venue team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What we're looking for
Previous sales experience would be useful, but it isn't essential. Some of the strongest performers in the existing team came from other customer-facing backgrounds.
More important are three things:
Confidence with people
You're comfortable approaching someone you don't know, starting a conversation and building rapport quickly.
Resilience
You'll hear "no" plenty of times. You need to be able to stay positive and approach the next customer with the same energy.
Motivation to earn
You're excited by the opportunity to increase your earnings through commission and comfortable working towards sales targets.
Experience in areas such as retail, hospitality, customer service, promotions or other customer-facing roles could all be relevant.
You'll also need to be:
- Reliable and comfortable working independently.
- Happy working as part of a team.
- Able to travel to different venues across Liverpool, Merseyside and surrounding areas.
- Able to attend the company's training and accreditation programme in Tamworth.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be useful, but isn't essential.
Pay and working pattern

You'll receive guaranteed hourly pay at the applicable National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage rate, paid monthly, plus commission for successful customer activations. Commission is additional to your guaranteed hourly pay. Shifts are typically six hours, including a one-hour break. There are flexible working patterns available, from a couple of shifts per week through to five or six shifts for people looking to maximise their hours and earnings. Daytime and weekend availability may be required, and the venue you'll work from will vary within the local area.
Training and benefits
- PAYE employment with guaranteed base pay.
- Commission on successful customer activations.
- Holiday pay and company pension.
- Paid training through a two to three-day induction and accreditation programme at the company's training centre in Tamworth.
- Hotel accommodation and meals provided when an overnight stay is required for training.
- Ongoing coaching and support from experienced sales managers.
- Progression opportunities into team leader and management roles as the operation grows.
You'll need the right to work in the UK, be able to attend training in Tamworth and be willing to complete any appropriate background and compliance checks required for the role.
If you're confident with people, resilient and motivated by the opportunity to earn more through your performance, we'd love to hear from you.
