This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales FM Director based in United Kingdom.

This role is responsible for executing commercial strategy and accelerating growth across an assigned customer portfolio and market.

You will manage strategic B2B relationships while identifying opportunities to increase revenue, margins, and customer value.

The position combines sales leadership, account development, technical collaboration, forecasting, and commercial planning.

You will work closely with Research and Development, Marketing, Pricing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and other Sales teams.

A strong understanding of food ingredients and product applications will enable you to identify customer needs and support innovative solutions.

The role requires a commercially driven professional who can build long-term partnerships while consistently delivering against ambitious targets.

Success will depend on strong market knowledge, analytical thinking, customer focus, and the ability to turn strategic opportunities into measurable business results.

Accountabilities

  • Implement the commercial strategy across assigned channels, customer segments, and accounts in line with established business objectives and revenue and margin targets.
  • Identify, approach, and develop new customer accounts to expand the market and generate sustainable revenue and margin growth.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, understanding their business needs, product requirements, and strategic priorities.
  • Develop and execute account plans that define growth opportunities, priorities, commercial actions, and measurable objectives for managed customers.
  • Identify key growth levers within the customer portfolio and proactively develop opportunities for revenue expansion and increased customer value.
  • Collaborate with other Sales Managers to identify technical and commercial synergies and develop opportunities across customer portfolios.
  • Organize innovation-focused sessions with Research and Development, Marketing, chefs, and customers to identify new product and application opportunities.
  • Manage sales forecasts, revenue estimates, and commercial reporting to support accurate business planning and performance management.
  • Work closely with Research and Development by providing clear customer and market inputs and contributing directly to product development initiatives.
  • Contribute to product and process innovation by identifying customer needs, market opportunities, and potential improvements.
  • Participate in customer meetings, on-site activities, and regular business reviews to strengthen relationships and support commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Pricing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Research and Development, Marketing, and other relevant teams to deliver customer and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Food Science or a related discipline, although this is not mandatory.
  • 10+ years of combined technical and commercial experience, ideally within a customer-facing B2B environment.
  • Significant experience in the food industry, with a strong understanding of food ingredients, applications, and related product solutions.
  • Practical technical knowledge and substantial experience in product application and customer-focused technical discussions.
  • Proven ability to develop new business, manage strategic accounts, and deliver against revenue and margin objectives.
  • Strong commercial aptitude with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, understand customer needs, and convert them into business results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical and planning capabilities, including the ability to manage forecasts, assess opportunities, and work toward clearly defined goals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of commercial challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong results orientation, customer focus, adaptability, and commitment to achieving commercial objectives.
