About the Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Hughes Business team as a Business Advisor in our Norwich location. This location is our national sales office, reaching customers right across the UK, where we have seen good growth recently making it an excellent environment for someone passionate about trade sales, customer service, and building long-term business relationships.

As a key member of our professional and energetic team, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent service to business customers, helping drive sales performance, and supporting efficient day-to-day operations. Your positive attitude, communication skills and ability to build rapport will help strengthen customer relationships and contribute to the continued success of the department.

We are looking for someone who is eager to grow their career through hands-on experience, training and continuous learning.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serving business customers in-branch, by phone and by email, providing friendly and professional support.
  • Responding promptly to new and referred customers to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Actively seeking new business opportunities, including participation in customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Advising customers on suitable products, including upgrades, accessories and profitable add-ons.
  • Supporting accurate invoicing, dispatch, credit and rental documentation.
  • Maintaining strong product knowledge through ongoing training and development.
  • Assisting with customer complaints and contributing to a high-quality service experience.
  • Supporting stock control activities including stock checks and safe handling processes.
  • Promoting additional business areas when appropriate, helping drive wider company growth.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across branches, depots and head office to provide a seamless service.

Skills and Experience Required

  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service to business clients.
  • Sales, commercial or B2B experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Office-based telesales experience is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain detailed product and operational knowledge through training.
  • Flexibility and adaptability when business needs and customer expectations change.
  • A proactive mindset toward seeking new business opportunities and converting leads.
