National Payments is growing, and we're looking for experienced people from the payments industry to generate new business opportunities for our UK-wide field sales team.
This isn't an entry-level appointment-setting role. We're looking for people who already understand payments, know how to speak to business owners and know what a genuinely qualified opportunity looks like.
The role
You'll be speaking with independent businesses across the UK, generating new opportunities and booking qualified appointments for our field sales team.
We'll build and provide target data, but we're a growing business and we're not going to pretend there's an endless supply of perfectly polished leads waiting for you.
Part of the role is being able to find and develop your own opportunities too.
A good appointment means the decision maker knows why we're coming, is interested in reviewing their current setup and is genuinely open to a conversation about their card machines or EPOS system.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You're booking for people who want to sell
Your appointments will be distributed across both our employed and self-employed field sales teams throughout the UK.
And that's important.
A large part of our field team is self-employed. They don't have a basic salary or a safety net. They earn by selling, so when you put a good opportunity in front of them, they're hungry to close it.
You're not going to spend your week generating quality appointments only to watch them sit untouched in someone's diary.
Our field team wants the opportunities you're creating.
Your job is to open the door, qualify the opportunity and get the right person in front of the customer.
Their job is to close it.
And because your own earning potential increases when those opportunities turn into installed and transacting machines, everyone is working towards the same thing.
No micromanagement
We're hiring experienced payments people because we want to trust them to do their job.
We're not interested in pointless dial targets, monitoring your call time or checking what you're doing every hour.

You have a target.
If you're hitting it, we don't care whether it took you 300 calls or three.
Manage your own day. Find what works. Deliver the numbers.
What we're looking for
Previous experience in payments or merchant services is essential.
You need experience generating new business and be comfortable speaking directly with independent business owners and decision makers.
We're not looking to teach someone payments from scratch. We want someone who already knows the industry and can get on with the job.
What you get
The role is completely remote, with a laptop and headset supplied.
You'll have support from day one, direct access to hands-on directors and the opportunity to join a growing company without all the usual corporate nonsense.
And if you want to move into closing your own business, there's a clear route into our field sales team.
We're looking for experienced payments people who can generate good opportunities, hit their numbers and want to be trusted to get on with the job.
