The opportunity At Hitachi Energy, we are advancing the world's energy system to be more sustainable, flexible, and secure. Our Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service business is a global leader in delivering grid connection and power quality solutions that enable the energy transition across utilities, renewables, industry, transportation, data centers, and infrastructure sectors.
As part of our continued growth in Europe, we are looking for an experienced Sales Lead Large Projects to join our Hub Europe Sales & Marketing team. This is a unique opportunity to drive and secure some of the largest and most strategic projects within the energy sector, with a particular focus on offshore wind and renewable energy projects.
In this highly visible role, you will build long-term strategic partnerships with key customers, understand their business drivers and return-on-investment expectations, and develop winning solutions that create value for both the customer and Hitachi Energy. You will collaborate across countries and functions, leading complex opportunity capture strategies and positioning Hitachi Energy for long-term success in a rapidly evolving market.
The position can be based in various Hitachi Energy locations across Europe and reports to the Head of Marketing & Sales, Hub Europe.
How you'll make an impact
- Drive sales and business development activities for strategic large-scale projects across Europe, with a strong focus on offshore wind, renewable energy, utility, and industrial customers.
- Develop and execute customer-specific capture strategies to secure major project opportunities valued between USD 200M and USD 400M+.
- Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and decision-makers at key accounts, acting as a strategic partner rather than a transactional salesperson.
- Understand customer investment strategies, business priorities, and ROI expectations to create compelling value propositions.
- Lead cross-functional capture teams across Europe, bringing together sales, tendering, engineering, operations, and supply chain experts.
- Collaborate closely with local operating units, business units, and segment leaders to position Hitachi Energy as the partner of choice.
- Drive the negotiation and implementation of strategic agreements, including framework agreements and long-term partnership models.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activities, and emerging trends within the renewable energy and offshore sectors.
- Ensure opportunities are developed in line with company strategy while managing commercial, technical, and execution risks.
- Act as an ambassador for Hitachi Energy's values of safety, integrity, collaboration, and customer focus.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
