The opportunity
An established international beauty and cosmetics business with a growing UK presence is looking for a commercial leader to take its next phase of growth to the next level. This is a confidential search for someone who can hit the ground running with a network of retail buyers they already own.
The brands are accessible, mass market and popular with shoppers, positioned at entry to mid level price points. This is about volume, availability and fast moving retail, not prestige or luxury. You will be the face of the brands in the UK, using your relationships and drive to win new listings, extend distribution and grow sales with retailers.
What you will do
- Use your existing buyer relationships to secure new listings and expand distribution across UK retailers.
- Open new doors as a true business developer, pitching to buyers, winning new accounts and closing deals.
- Build a UK sales plan by customer, setting priorities, targets and timelines for revenue, margin and distribution.
- Lead pricing, terms and commercial negotiations with senior buyers, balancing profitability with competitive positioning.
- Agree joint business plans, range strategies and promotional calendars with key retail customers.
- Act as the UK representative of the brands at retailer meetings, trade events and industry networks.
- Keep close to category trends, competitor activity, pricing pressure and changing shopper behaviour in the mass beauty and personal care market.
- Make sure products and partners meet UK cosmetics regulation and retailer standards on safety, quality, ethics and sustainability.
- Feed market insight back to senior leadership and supply chain teams to shape the UK offer.
- Build and lead a sales team as the business grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
