Sales Ledger Assistant

Location: London

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Contract: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sales Ledger Assistant to join their established finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive business, where you'll play a key role in the management of contractual billing, sales ledger administration, systems training, and wider finance support.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end sales ledger process, ensuring the accurate and timely production of recurring contractual and non-standard client invoices.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly billing schedules, making amendments where required and translating approved billing information into sales invoices.
  • Maintain the client contract database, updating contract renewals, purchase order information, billing details, and status changes.
  • Review internal communications and contract updates to identify and implement billing amendments.
  • Issue and log sales invoices, ensuring a high level of accuracy and minimal billing errors.
  • Chase outstanding client purchase orders and support the management of billing-related queries.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of contracts, invoice activity, and customer communications.
  • Provide support and training to internal users on the company's Focalpoint system, including purchase orders, timesheets, and invoicing processes.
  • Assist the wider finance team with purchase ledger, credit control, and banking activities during periods of high workload, absence, or annual leave cover.

  • Previous Sales Ledger experience.
  • Strong experience of recurring contract billing and invoice generation.
  • Confident Excel user.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable training and supporting colleagues on systems and processes.
  • Experience with Access Dimensions would be advantageous but is not essential.
