Sales Ledger Assistant

We are looking for a detail-driven Sales Ledger Assistant to join our Supply & Energy Management team on a Fixed Term Contract to the end of October 2027. You will play a key role in keeping our financial operations accurate, compliant, and efficient.
Summary Of What You Will Do
- Record all accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time, including invoices, credit notes, payments, and refunds.
- Clear customer cash transactions through the general ledger daily to maintain clean and accurate bank reconciliations.
- Allocate accounts receivable transactions in line with agreed policies and reduce unallocated balances through proactive communication.
- Execute Direct Debit collections and refunds in a timely and controlled manner.
- Support monthly financial closes, forecasting activities, and external audit requests.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Credit Control, Account Managers, and Internal Audit to resolve queries efficiently.
- Adhere to internal risk frameworks and contribute to system change and process improvement projects.

What You Will Bring To The Role
- Solid experience in accounts receivable within a large, complex organisation.
- Practical knowledge of Direct Debit scheme operations and rules.
- Strong numerical ability and analytical skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office tools.
- A proven track record of delivering accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and focused on detail and time management.
- A degree or equivalent qualification gained through professional experience; Junifer system knowledge is a plus.
Location
Hybrid working arrangement based from our Leeds office (min 2 days per week), combining remote flexibility with on-site collaboration.
