Wakefield | Fully Office-Based | 30-40 Hours Per Week | Immediate Start Available
A well-established business in Wakefield is looking for an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a temporary basis. Working within a friendly team of three, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts function, ensuring customer accounts are maintained accurately and payments are processed efficiently.
This is a fully office-based position offering flexibility around working days and start times, with standard hours of 08:30am to 5:00pm and between 30 and 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Banking cash and cheque receipts
- Posting debit card, credit card and BACS payments
- Raising customer credit notes
- Taking customer card payments
- Handling customer account and payment queries
- Processing credits and recharges
- Scanning and maintaining supporting documentation
- Producing reports and responding to requests from sales representatives
- Supporting colleagues during holidays, absences and peak periods
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring a high level of customer service
- Undertaking general accounts administration duties as required
- Following company procedures and health & safety requirements

About You
- Previous experience within Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control or Accounts Administration
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident dealing with customers and internal stakeholders
- Good IT skills and experience using finance systems
- Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
- Organised, reliable and proactive in your approach
- Comfortable working as part of a small, close-knit finance team
