Sales Ledger Controller

Kidderminster | £28,000 | Permanent | 37.5 Hours per Week | Office based | Full-time

Are you an experienced Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or Finance professional looking for a varied role where you can take ownership of the invoicing process and play a key part within a busy finance team?

A well-established and growing business based in Kidderminster is seeking a Sales Ledger Controller to join its Head Office finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with invoicing, customer account management, and resolving account queries, while building strong relationships across the wider business.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring customer invoices are raised accurately and on time, maintaining customer account information, and supporting the smooth running of the sales ledger function.

  • Raising and processing customer invoices accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Exporting and manipulating invoicing data using Excel
  • Maintaining customer account records, pricing structures, discounts, and service agreements
  • Setting up new customer accounts within Sage 200
  • Investigating and resolving invoice, payment, and account queries
  • Producing customer KPI and performance reporting
  • Managing the accounts inbox and responding to enquiries
  • Requesting and tracking customer purchase orders
  • Liaising with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams to verify billing information
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc finance and ledger-related duties

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong invoicing and customer account management experience
  • Good Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and colleagues
  • The ability to investigate and resolve account queries efficiently
  • Experience with Sage 200 (advantageous but not essential)
