Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with an established Engineering Business to recruit an experienced, hands-on & personable Sales Ledger Officer on a permanent basis to join their close-knit accounting team in Swindon, Wiltshire. The position will take control of all sales ledger processes for the business, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. The role will use MS Excel with various financial systems. An on-site role initially with the potential in the future for hybrid working. A great opportunity to really add value, supporting a variety of sales ledger processes for the organisation. Sales ledger experience is essential to be considered for this role.
Your new role
Your key duties will include:
- Processing sales orders via Excel
- Processing sales invoices and credit notes, along with customer orders
- Ensuring outstanding sales orders are chased weekly
- Supporting sales ledger reporting
- Identifying all sales order discrepancies
- Identifying/resolving all customer account queries
- Developing a detailed understanding of the customer base
- Maintaining aged debtors monthly
- Working closely with operational management to support a smooth sales ledger process
- Maintaining customer purchase orders data
- Supporting the Finance Manager in ad-hoc accounting duties when required

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this permanent Sales Ledger Officer role, you will need:
- Experience in a similar position
- Strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of financial systems
- Key communication skills to build both internal/external relationships
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines
- Adaptability to business needs
- Willingness to learn
- Key problem-solving abilities
- Being a team player who can use their own initiative
Experience within the engineering/manufacturing sectors and working for a small/medium-sized business would be advantageous but not essential.

This permanent Sales Ledger Officer role offers a salary between £30,000 - £33,500 per annum, depending on experience based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Free parking provided on-site. An all-on-site role with the possibility of hybrid working in the future.
