About the Role
Working alongside the Global VP, Commercial and the wider UK Commercial Team, the Sales Manager will contribute to the day to day running of the digital and print business in the UK and will be responsible for prospecting, managing pipelines and closing deals across a patch of brands and media businesses.
Based in the UK, this is a hybrid role within VICE Digital Publishing and is focused on digital media sales on VICE.com and print sales within VICE Magazine. Candidates should therefore have a strong background in digital media. The role has a competitive salary and bonus structure and candidates must have a strong desire to exceed targets through long term media partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying advertising partners that are consistent with our editorial strategy
- Developing strategic relationships with media agencies and advertisers in order to grow our pipeline
- Keeping real-time progress with clients to understand their business goals and challenges, and to generate opportunities to work together
- Collaborating with the Global Media Director team to ensure that pitches are tailored to clients appropriately, are presented in a confident and compelling manner and followed up to close
- Working with internal teams on behalf of clients to ensure the highest level of customer service and resolve issues that impact them, taking responsibility to ensure your clients are satisfied after each project
- Oversee management and delivery of all projects under your remit in their entirety including: Creation of IOs, processing billings/accounts info in a timely fashion, Represent VICE at pitches and events with other colleagues, Weekly reporting to the Global VP including pipeline updates

- Strong understanding and passion for the VICE brand
- Minimum 5 years experience at an established media owner
- Existing contacts at UK agencies with an understanding of the landscape. It would be a bonus if these are regional or global
- Strong knowledge of selling digital media and print solutions to develop cross-media opportunities
- Flexibility and willingness to run with work and proactively add ideas and innovation to our business
- A creative flair in coming up with ways of delivering solutions to client briefs
- Organisational agility and strong attention to detail
- A strong team-player ethic
- Self-motivation and energy in taking ownership of client projects
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and confidence in presenting ideas clearly and succinctly
- The ability to perform under stress, within tight deadlines
