Silmid is a leading distributor of aerospace and aviation chemicals and consumables. For over 40 years, we have helped customers worldwide access products from trusted manufacturers, supported by technical expertise and our e-commerce platform. As part of the GracoRoberts family, we are proud to be part of the world's largest, fastest-growing, and most technically focused aerospace specialty chemicals distribution network.
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Manager to lead our team of Technical Account Managers and accelerate our next phase of growth.
This is a high-impact role for an experienced sales leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on customer engagement.
You will take ownership of sales performance, pipeline development and forecasting while building strong relationships with key customers and manufacturing partners. You will coach and develop your team, identify new opportunities and turn commercial objectives into focused, achievable plans.

Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Deliver sustainable revenue growth and expand our market presence.
- Own the sales pipeline, forecasting and commercial performance.
- Develop new business while growing and retaining key accounts.
- Build strategic relationships with customers and manufacturing partners.
- Use data and market insight to identify opportunities and manage risk.
- Collaborate across the business to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Represent Silmid at customer meetings and industry events.
What we're looking for
We're seeking a strategic and hands-on sales leader who can build trusted relationships, identify growth opportunities, and drive exceptional commercial performance through people and process.
Essential Skills and Experience

- Minimum five years experience in sales and business development management.
- A proven track record of leading teams and delivering revenue growth.
- Strong commercial acumen and a strategic, data-led approach.
- Confident leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, specialty chemicals, electronics or advanced manufacturing is desirable.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel in the UK and internationally.
