Sales Manager
Full-Time Position – 40 hours

About the Role:
We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Sales Manager to join our Sales team. This pivotal role is responsible for supporting the overall Sales Strategy and supporting the Director of Sales in maximising all sales opportunities in the hotel. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, results-driven professional with a strive for excellence to take Sopwell House to the next level of commercial success. This role will primarily focus on the MICE space and corporate business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively secure new accounts from the Global marketplace and thereafter, manage and develop accounts to agreed targets for Sopwell House.
- Effectively manage and develop a portfolio of network accounts to drive more revenue to the business.
- Develop and establish relationships with all Business Travel Agents, Consortia, Hotel Booking Agents, MICE, Corporate, Wholesalers, Tour Operators, and Call Centres where appropriate.
- Develop new business opportunities to secure new accounts from the global marketplace.
- Assist in the networking within our GDS supplier.
- Utilise technology to create various databases and conduct regular electronic mailings to the various marketplaces.
- Review various web opportunities and ensure the hotel maximise any opportunities.
- Ensure we maximise all opportunities to conduct presentations, road shows in the national and global marketplace.
- Ensure ongoing awareness of negotiations handled and ensure liaison with agents where appropriate.
- Monitor account performance on a monthly basis and action as required.
- Review each account on a monthly/quarterly basis with the clients and update action plans as required.
- Monitor and analyse competitor activity and act upon it to protect business.
- Organise and host familiarisation visits and corporate hospitality events as and when required.
- Represent the hotel at exhibitions, trade shows, presentations and such like and similarly to any professional bodies and organisations.
- Monitor all aspects of account administration to ensure accurate and effective. This includes the client database, completion of RFPs, collation of rates, issuing contracts, rate loading and tracking.
- Handle complaints or queries with immediate action, speaking to the Hotel Management ensuring thorough follow up to the guest.
