Sales Manager – Lead and Shape a Commercial Function
We are working with a well-established, owner-managed electronics manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for an established team of three Key Account Managers and a BDM. The successful person will bring greater structure, consistency, and commercial visibility to the sales function while remaining close to customers and the wider business.
The company is not looking to create a rigid or heavily KPI-driven environment. It needs someone who can understand what is working, identify what needs improving, and introduce practical processes that support the team.
The Role
- Take ownership of the day-to-day sales and account-management function.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of three Key Account Managers and a BDM.
- Bring greater consistency to how the team manages customers and commercial opportunities.
- Introduce clear sales, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Implement a new CRM system.
- Improve visibility across customer activity, pipeline, risks, and opportunities.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders across production, operations, and the board.
- Remain hands-on with key customers and important commercial discussions.
- Work alongside a dedicated Business Development Manager focused on winning new OEM customers.
- Bring new ideas to the table and help shape the future direction of the sales function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a sales function rather than simply inherit an established structure.
The business offers a flexible, non-corporate working environment where people are trusted to make decisions and encouraged to contribute ideas. You will have the autonomy to assess the current operation, implement improvements, and influence how the commercial function develops.
If you have experience leading sales teams within electronics or technical manufacturing and would be interested in discussing the opportunity confidentially, please get in touch.
