Ready to take ownership of a sales function and make your mark on a growing business?

We’re recruiting for an exciting Sales Manager opportunity with an established Peterborough-based business that has ambitious plans for its next stage of growth.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply inherit a strategy and manage the numbers. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the sales approach, develop the team, strengthen existing customer relationships and actively drive new business.

Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you’ll have genuine visibility and influence across the business. If you’re a hands-on sales leader who enjoys leading from the front and wants to see the direct impact of your work, this could be a fantastic next move.

This is a fully office-based position in Peterborough.

The opportunity?

As Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of the sales function, combining strategic thinking with hands-on commercial activity.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Creating and delivering a sales strategy focused on ambitious, sustainable growth.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a small internal sales team.
  • Identifying and winning new business while maximising opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Managing the full sales cycle and leading from the front when it comes to business development.
  • Taking ownership of sales forecasting, pipelines, KPIs and commercial performance.
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director and providing clear insight into sales activity and opportunities.
  • Developing sales processes, systems and CRM best practice to support future growth.
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with customers and distributors.
  • Working collaboratively across the business to deliver the right solutions for customers.
  • Representing the company at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience within engineering, manufacturing, electronics or technical sales would be highly advantageous, although we’re equally interested in hearing from strong B2B sales leaders from similar technical environments.

What’s in it for you?

Alongside a competitive basic salary, you’ll receive uncapped monthly commission following successful completion of probation, giving you genuine scope to increase your earnings as the business grows. You’ll also receive 24 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, pension and mileage for business travel. More importantly, you’ll be joining a stable and growing business at a point where your ideas, leadership and commercial decisions can genuinely influence what happens next. This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager looking for more autonomy or a strong sales leader ready to step into a position where they can take real ownership of a function. If you enjoy developing people, winning business and building something rather than simply maintaining what’s already there, we’d love to hear from you.
