United Fuels and Lubricants is a downstream oil and energy company based in Skipton, North Yorkshire. The company supplies fuels to homes, farms, and businesses across the UK, supporting a wide range of domestic and commercial customers. United Fuels and Lubricants focuses on reliable delivery, customer service, and competitive pricing to meet diverse energy needs. Team members join a growing, service-oriented business that plays a key role in the UK fuel supply chain.

Role Description

The Sales Manager role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Skipton, with some flexibility for working from home. The Sales Manager will oversee sales operations, manage key accounts, and develop new business across residential, agricultural, and commercial customer segments.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Leading the sales team
  • Setting and monitoring sales targets
  • Preparing proposals and quotations
  • Tracking performance against revenue objectives

  • Building strong customer relationships
  • Identifying market opportunities
  • Coordinating with operations and logistics to ensure timely deliveries
  • Providing regular sales reports and forecasts to leadership

The Sales Manager will:

  • Contribute to pricing strategies
  • Participate in local marketing initiatives
  • Ensure sales activities align with company policies and industry regulations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales management, account management, or business development, ideally within fuel, energy, logistics, or related sectors.
  • Strong skills in leading and coaching sales teams, setting targets, monitoring performance, and driving results.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage key accounts.
  • Competence in sales planning, forecasting, and reporting, with solid analytical and numerical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including confident presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Comfort with CRM systems, MS Office tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and other sales-related software.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the UK fuel or energy market, distribution processes, or regulatory environment is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup, collaborating on-site in Skipton and independently from home.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites and other company locations as required.
  • Relevant education such as a degree or diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
