Sales Manager – Technical Engineering
Are you looking for a fresh challenge with a forward-thinking organisation operating within the high-tech engineering sector?
Our client is an established and highly respected engineering business with expertise across complex manufacturing environments. They are currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager to support growth across their specialist large CNC machining and fabrication operations in the Greater Manchester area.

As Sales Manager, you will lead sales and business development activity, identifying and securing new business opportunities while developing and strengthening relationships with existing customers. You will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the organisation.

Main Duties
- Prepare and coordinate commercial quotations and proposals alongside senior leadership and estimating teams.
- Generate new business opportunities and revenue streams aligned with the organisation's technical capabilities.
- Manage and develop existing strategic and tactical customer accounts.
- Lead sales and business development activity, including attendance at exhibitions and industry events.
- Identify, target and acquire new customers through proactive business development, networking and industry events.
- Develop strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Work closely with operational and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support the development and implementation of sales strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building abilities.
- A good understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of large CNC machining and fabrication processes.
- Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.

Desired Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within technical sales, engineering, manufacturing or field sales.
- Experience selling within a technical or engineering-led environment.
- Experience within Aerospace, Nuclear or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
- A proactive and results-driven approach to business development.
