Sales Manager, Mid-Market (EMEA)
High Growth AI Startup (Series B)
London (Hybrid, 3 days in Shoreditch office)
£125k–£150k base (£250k–£300k OTE) + meaningful equity
At Hired By Startups, we're working with a high growth, well funded AI startup, hiring a Sales Manager to lead their Mid-Market team across EMEA.
This startup is now a well-known name as one of London’s leading AI companies, having recently raised a significant Series B, grown revenues 5x over the last 12 months, and built a best-in-class sales org. They’re now building leadership layers and they continue to scale their GTM team, with this Sales Manager role created as a brand new position.
You'll inherit a team of six Mid-Market AEs who are already performing well above quota. This is about taking a capable team and ensuring they continue to perform above target.
About the role
As Sales Manager, you will:
- Lead the Mid-Market sales team, selling into mid-market companies across EMEA.
- Own the team's number, with reps carrying $1m quotas and averaging 125% attainment.
- Coach on a largely outbound motion (roughly 70/30 outbound to inbound), with deals ranging from $50k ACV up to six figures and 30–90 day sales cycles.
- Hire and onboard new AEs as the team grows.
- Run forecasting, pipeline reviews and deal support.
- Work closely with the Head of Sales on headcount forecasting and hiring plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a pure management role. No personal quota.
About you
As Sales Manager, you'll need:
- Experience leading a team of AEs in a B2B SaaS startup, ideally selling into mid-market or lower enterprise accounts.
- To have come up through the ranks yourself. SDR to AE to Manager is the ideal route.
- A coaching-led approach. You'll be running a proper sales playbook, not just managing a spreadsheet.
- A builder's mindset. You've created or improved playbooks, systems and operating structures rather than only inherited them.
- Experience hiring and ramping reps, or a clear appetite to own that.
- To be comfortable with a predominantly outbound motion.
