About the Role

Mercury Hampton is working exclusively with this client. Mercury Hampton Ltd has been exclusively retained on this critical hire. A world leading manufacturer of mechanical components for applications throughout numerous industrial sectors is now looking for a Strategic Sales Leader to manage the UK Gas Market for them. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of the UK Gas Network, the OEM’s who supply into it and the distribution partners associated with the UK Gas Market.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the UK sales Director and Managing Director to develop and deliver a growth strategy for the gas market, growing distribution and the engagement strategy.
  • Work with an experienced sales team to deliver numbers and world leading products renowned for reliability, safety, and innovation.
  • Work closely with customers to enhance and develop new products whilst managing end-to-end sales for all customer contacts delivering best practice service delivery.
  • Be the Head for this sector and network with thought leaders in the UK gas industry.
  • Manage all aspects of this division; profitability, turnover, product mix, payment, project management, pricing, KPIs, and CRM.

The Candidate

  • Extensive sales experience of mechanical component sales into the GAS Market.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the UK Gas industry.
  • Mechanical Engineering Background.
  • A leader and an inspirational manager.
  • Understanding of fluid-related components – pumps, valves, seals, filtration, etc.
  • A strong strategic thinker with exceptional ability to develop relationships, manage key accounts, and develop new business.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate and sell to a wide variety of levels.
  • Dynamic “can do” attitude, and enthusiasm for sales.
  • An engineering qualification will be advantageous but not essential.
  • A mechanical engineering apprenticeship would also be desirable.
  • Extensive Product training will be provided.
  • An eye for upselling / cross-selling opportunities.
