INTERIM Sales Manager – B2B Payments / Financial Services Sector
Location: UK – Remote
Type: Contract/Interim – Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months
We are looking for an experienced B2B Sales Specialist for a client in Financial Services, to drive B2B payments growth initiatives across the UK and Europe.
This is a high-impact commercial role focused on converting identified opportunities into live, revenue-generating B2B payment flows. You will work closely with senior sales leadership and Relationship Management teams to expand B2B payment volumes within existing enterprise and mid-market customers, while also progressing approved new opportunities.
You will take ownership of the end-to-end sales process, from opportunity development and stakeholder engagement through to deal closure, revenue realisation and handover into Relationship Management.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of approved B2B payments sales initiatives across the UK and Europe.
- Own revenue, volume and pipeline development for B2B payment opportunities.
- Drive deal progression, negotiation, closure and revenue generation.
- Identify and develop opportunities within existing enterprise and mid-market merchant portfolios.
- Develop new B2B opportunities with mid-market merchants across a variety of market sectors.
- Articulate the B2B payments value proposition, demonstrating benefits around efficiency, working capital optimisation and reconciliation automation.
- Provide commercial input into product roadmap and proposition development based on customer requirements.
- Represent the organisation as a senior B2B payments expert in the market.
About You
We are looking for a senior commercial sales professional with:

- Strong understanding of B2B payments, including commercial cards, virtual cards, payment platforms, marketplaces, settlement flows and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- A proven track record of building and scaling B2B or enterprise payments revenue.
- Experience delivering both existing-client expansion and net-new business.
- Experience working closely with Product, Risk and Compliance functions.
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate at C-suite and executive level.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel across Europe, as required.
- Native or fluent English; additional European languages would be advantageous.
Daily Rate: Circa £500 per day, depending on experience. Additional bonus structure to be discussed.
